53/ 100 Step Rest Dog
Napping Whilst the World Moves Around You.
I have chosen this short time-lapse video because I am very short on time today – I have been out since early this morning photographing a little elopement in the Scottish Highlands, in a place that couldn’t be more different to the scene above.
Not only were there very few people where I was, there was a very muted colour palette, no sounds (other than cars racing along the busy road) and, of course, no stray dogs. Isn’t it interesting that if there was a dog here in the UK sleeping, like the one above, without an obvious owner close by we would try and capture it and hand it in, in an effort to find its home.
This dog was resting here for most of the afternoon. It was still there when we returned some hours later and it might have been there for hours before we first saw it. All the while it had been napping on the ghats in Varanasi countless people had moved carefully around it. Nobody bothered it or tried to move it. They really did let the sleeping dog lie.
