Description
On our travels around India we spent a few days in the town of Varanasi, said to be of particular importance to the Hindu people because the holy river Ganges flows right past it. Stone steps lead down to the river and at any time of the day you will find people bathing and working on the river.
Foot Steps — Each day in Varanasi, in India, hundreds of Hindu devotees would head to the river Ganges for the ritual bathing and and, often, funeral ceremonies. A great many of them wore no shoes and I was fascinated by their amazing feet, worn hard by years of walking barefoot and adorned with ankle bracelets and rings.
